New York Jets News & Updates

Owner Woody Johnson has confirmed that the New York Jets have allowed pass rusher Haason Reddick to look for a trade opportunity.

Initially, the Jets declined Reddick's trade request, but after discussions between his new agent and general manager Joe Douglas, the team's decision has shifted.

The team believes that letting Reddick explore his options might reignite his interest in playing for them again.

Johnson is optimistic about Reddick's eventual return to the Jets, trusting his agent to handle the situation effectively.

Reddick hasn't attended any team events since the spring, incurring significant financial consequences. If he doesn't come back by Week 13, his contract will extend through 2025.

With Reddick's high salary and refusal of a contract extension from the Jets, finding a trading partner might be difficult.

Nevertheless, the high demand for edge rushers indicates that a trade might still happen. Reddick has been quite effective in the past, achieving 50.5 sacks over the last four seasons.

After trading for him in March, the Jets had anticipated significant contributions from Reddick, who has yet to take the field for them.
