Carolina Panthers News & Updates

Joe Burrow propelled the Cincinnati Bengals to their inaugural victory of the season against the Carolina Panthers, overcoming the pressure of a must-win game.

Burrow amassed 232 passing yards and two touchdowns, with Chase Brown adding 80 rushing yards and scoring twice. The Bengals' defense held strong in the closing stages to secure the win.

Ja'Marr Chase contributed 85 receiving yards, highlighted by a remarkable 63-yard touchdown catch-and-run. Zac Moss and Tee Higgins also played pivotal roles in the offense.

Former Bengals player Andy Dalton faced his old team for the second time but narrowly missed victory, despite throwing for 220 yards and two touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard and Diontae Johnson delivered solid performances for the Panthers.

Carolina's pass defense remains a challenge, allowing nine touchdowns in four matches. Burrow demonstrated impressive control and evaded pressure effectively.

The Bengals reactivated their running game in the latter half, totaling 130 yards. Their defense had a strong start, intercepting a pass in the end zone and returning it for a touchdown.

Even though the Panthers showed determination, the Bengals widened their lead in the third quarter and added a field goal after a fake punt. Cincinnati's defense forced a critical three-and-out late in the game, and Evan McPherson solidified the win with a 46-yard field goal.

First-round draft pick Xavier Legette capitalized on his opportunity in Adam Thielen's absence, making six catches for 66 yards and his first career touchdown.

Julius Peppers received his ring of excellence at halftime, marking his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this year.

The Bengals are set to host the Ravens next Sunday, while the Panthers will travel to face the Bears.
