Kansas City Chiefs News & Updates

The Kansas City Chiefs have acquired pass rusher Joshua Uche from the New England Patriots through a trade.

In exchange, New England received a sixth-round draft pick for the year 2026.

Uche was absent from New England's latest win against the New York Jets, partly due to circulating trade speculations.

At the age of 26, Uche has achieved two sacks this season and a career total of 20.5 sacks.

Before this season started, he signed a one-year deal with New England but is set to become an unrestricted free agent afterward.

This move marks the Chiefs' second major trade, following last week's acquisition of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans.

On Sunday, the Chiefs secured a win against the Las Vegas Raiders, recording five sacks in the process.

Uche will be joining a formidable Chiefs defense that currently ranks second in the league.

The Chiefs' defensive lineup also includes George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, and Felix Anudike-Uzomah at defensive end, and they anticipate the return of Charles Omenihu later in the year.

The Patriots initially picked Uche in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, bringing him in from the University of Michigan.
