Kansas City Chiefs News & Updates

The Kansas City Chiefs are currently uncertain about the seriousness of wide receiver Rashee Rice's knee injury, as per sources.

Initially, there were worries about a possible torn right ACL. The Chiefs have since consulted their medical team and sought an additional opinion. More testing is required to fully understand the injury and establish a recovery timeline.

It is anticipated that definitive answers will not be available until next week.

After sustaining the injury in Sunday's victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, Rice has been declared out for Monday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

The injury occurred when Rice collided with quarterback Patrick Mahomes while attempting to recover a fumble. The collision affected both of Rice's knees, with the right knee appearing to hyperextend. He was helped off the field and evaluated by medical staff before being taken to the locker room on a cart.

Going into Week 4, Rice led the league in receptions with 24 and was second in receiving yards with 288.

In Rice's absence, coach Andy Reid intends to spread the ball among his receivers instead of depending solely on rookie Xavier Worthy to make up for the lost production.
