Kareem Hunt, who was recently added to the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad, will not participate in the upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday.
Head Coach Andy Reid is being cautious regarding Hunt's progress, acknowledging his recent efforts in practice but stressing that a real game situation is needed to accurately gauge his readiness.
With Hunt unavailable, the Chiefs will depend on Carson Steele, Samaje Perine, and Keaontay Ingram to fill the running back position.
The Chiefs brought Hunt on board following the injury of Isiah Pacheco, who suffered a broken fibula. Hunt, who previously played for the Chiefs between 2017 and 2018, was selected for the Pro Bowl during his rookie year.
Despite his early success, Hunt was released in 2018 due to an incident involving domestic violence. After spending time with the Cleveland Browns from 2019 to 2022, the 29-year-old is now back with the Chiefs.
