Baltimore Ravens News & Updates

Even after practicing just once during the previous week, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson achieved a flawless 158.3 passer rating, leading to a decisive 41-10 win against the Denver Broncos.

Jackson was absent from practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to back and knee issues, but he managed to return for a Friday session, which marked his sole practice of the week.

In spite of the limited practice opportunities, Jackson successfully completed 16 out of 19 passing attempts, totaling 280 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Remarkably, he also achieved a personal best in completions for throws exceeding 20 yards in the air, going 5-for-5 for 157 yards and adding a touchdown.

Running back Derrick Henry attributed Jackson's success to his diligent preparation and film study, which compensated for his minimal practice engagement.

As a result of his exceptional performance, Jackson's chances of winning the NFL MVP award improved to +225, as reported by ESPN BET, positioning him ahead of Josh Allen, who stands at +360.

Ravens wide receiver Nelson Agholor commended Jackson's talent in recognizing and leveraging the strengths of his teammates, describing him as a "special player."

Despite Jackson's limited rushing efforts, recorded at three carries for four yards, Flowers became the first Ravens player since 2019 to register 100 receiving yards and two touchdown catches in a single game. Meanwhile, Henry contributed 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns, joining the ranks as the 10th player in NFL history to reach 100 career rushing touchdowns.

Jackson's outstanding display contributed to the Ravens securing a sixth win out of their last seven games, leaving them just a half-game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are 6-2.
