Las Vegas Raiders News & Updates

Raiders coach Antonio Pierce did not provide any details on whether Desmond Ridder would take on the role of the team's starting quarterback after stepping in for Gardner Minshew during the third quarter in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which resulted in a loss for Las Vegas.

Despite not commenting on Ridder's future role, Pierce commended Ridder for his gameplay, particularly noting his touchdown pass to Brock Bowers, as well as his athletic abilities and strength in throwing.

Ridder joined the Raiders from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad after Aidan O'Connell sustained an injury. This event marked the third instance this season where Minshew was substituted during a game.

Playing with an offensive line that was dealing with injuries, Ridder managed to complete 11 of his 16 pass attempts, totaling 74 yards, although he was sacked four times.

The Las Vegas team is currently experiencing a five-game losing streak and shares the worst record in the NFL with several other teams. Pierce aims to "reset" and consider all aspects during the Raiders' bye week, which includes evaluating the potential for a permanent change in the quarterback position.

Pierce also indicated that he would defer to general manager Tom Telesco concerning trade opportunities as the Tuesday deadline approaches.
