Detroit Lions News & Updates

The Detroit Lions triumphed over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, winning 24-14 despite unfriendly weather. This victory marks their first outdoor game win of the season and their third consecutive road win over their NFC North rivals, dating back to 1991.

The Lions had played their initial seven games indoors, yet moving to an outdoor setting did not hinder their performance. Head coach Dan Campbell highlighted the team's ability to win regardless of the conditions. The team remains assured as they face two more outdoor games in the regular season, against the Bears in Chicago and the 49ers in San Francisco.

On the field, the Lions excelled both defensively and offensively. The defense restricted the Packers to just one touchdown in the game’s final moments, while safety Kerby Joseph achieved his first NFL interception return for a touchdown. Even though the Packers outgained them in yards, Detroit's strong running game, led by David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, played a crucial role in their victory.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff attributed their success to the team's flexibility and ability to perform under any conditions. While there are areas to improve, Campbell commended the team's effectiveness with a wet ball.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, an All-Pro receiver for the Lions, continued his remarkable performance streak by becoming the first wide receiver in nearly 20 years to catch 30 consecutive targets. Goff also achieved an NFL milestone by completing 80% of his passes over a six-game period.

Despite the win, Goff reiterated the importance of focusing on moving forward, with the next challenge being a "Sunday Night Football" matchup against the Houston Texans.
