Detroit Lions News & Updates

Tight end Sam LaPorta from the Detroit Lions is currently dealing with a left shoulder injury, which he sustained during their Week 10 victory against the Houston Texans. His condition is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

On Monday, Coach Dan Campbell announced that LaPorta's injury involves a sprained AC joint. There is a possibility he might not participate in the Lions' upcoming home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

During the Lions' significant comeback victory over the Texans, LaPorta managed to secure three receptions, contributing 66 yards and scoring a touchdown, helping the team to recover from a 16-point deficit at halftime.

Now in his second year in the league, LaPorta is currently the third highest on the Lions for receiving yards, with a total of 366 yards, alongside 25 receptions and three touchdowns. In 2023, during his rookie year, he earned selections to the Pro Bowl and was named to the second-team All-Pro.
