Patrick Mahomes' impressive performance, contributing 262 passing yards and two touchdowns, guided the Kansas City Chiefs to a 27-20 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. This victory extends their winning streak to 13 games, keeping their record unblemished. Mahomes reached a milestone by becoming the fastest quarterback in history to achieve 30,000 career passing yards, doing so in only 103 games.
Travis Kelce, the primary receiver for Mahomes, set a personal season record with 10 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. This touchdown allowed him to surpass Jason Witten on the NFL list for tight end touchdowns.
Gardner Minshew, attempting to propel Las Vegas forward, recorded 209 passing yards and two touchdowns. However, the Raiders failed to seize critical opportunities, such as not capitalizing on a late first-half drive and a turnover by Mahomes during the third quarter. A strip sack of Minshew paved the way for the Chiefs' final touchdown.
Although the Raiders have now suffered four consecutive losses, they showed progress by scoring at least 20 points for the first time since September. Despite this, they continued to struggle with establishing a reliable running game.
Regarding injuries, the Chiefs' Nazeeh Johnson suffered a concussion while the Raiders' Andre James injured his ankle.
The next challenges for each team involve the Chiefs hosting Tampa Bay on Monday, November 4th, while the Raiders are set to visit Cincinnati on Sunday.
