Miami Dolphins News & Updates

Coach Mike McDaniel has announced that Miami Dolphins right tackle Austin Jackson is set to miss the rest of the season due to knee surgery. Jackson sustained an injury last week and has since been placed on the injured reserve list. Initially, McDaniel thought Jackson’s injury wouldn’t be long-term, but it has now been confirmed that he will not return for the remainder of the season.

This season, Jackson participated in eight games but has encountered multiple injuries in 2022, which led him to miss 15 games. Despite these challenges, he managed to play almost the entire season last year. The Dolphins decided to extend Jackson's contract in December 2023, offering him a three-year deal valued at $36 million.

Additionally, McDaniel has confirmed the team’s acquisition of linebacker Tyrel Dodson, who was recently waived by the Seattle Seahawks. Dodson recorded 71 tackles in his debut season with Seattle and previously spent five years with the Buffalo Bills. McDaniel mentioned that Dodson’s familiarity with their system influenced the Dolphins' decision to bring him on board.

Looking ahead to Week 11, the Dolphins are set to host the Las Vegas Raiders. However, they will be without starting cornerback Kendall Fuller, who sustained a concussion in Monday's game. This marks Fuller's second concussion this season, and McDaniel has declared him out for the game against the Raiders. The timeline for Fuller's return remains uncertain at this point.
