On Saturday night, the Boston Bruins emerged victorious over the Toronto Maple Leafs with a score of 5-2. Patrice Bergeron contributed a goal and two assists for Boston, while David Pastrnak added a goal and an assist. Brad Marchand, Charlie McAvoy, and Jake DeBrusk also found the back of the net for the Bruins, whereas Auston Matthews and John Tavares scored for the Maple Leafs.

The Maple Leafs initiated the scoring a little over three minutes into the game, but the Bruins quickly countered with two goals in less than two minutes, taking a 2-1 lead. Marchand equalized the score at 1-1 shortly after Matthews scored, and Bergeron secured the lead for Boston with a goal during a power play.

Boston increased their advantage to 3-1 at the start of the second period when McAvoy scored on another power play. Pastrnak then made it 4-1 with a wrist shot from the slot just over a minute later. Tavares managed to reduce the deficit to 4-2 late in the second period, yet DeBrusk finalized the Bruins’ win with an empty-net goal in the last minute of the match.

Tuukka Rask performed impressively for the Bruins, making 29 saves, while Frederik Andersen made 28 saves for the Maple Leafs. This win marks the Bruins' third consecutive victory, bringing their recent record to 9-2-0 over the last 11 games. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs have dropped three of their last four outings and stand at 5-4-1 over the past 10 games.
