New Orleans Saints News & Updates

Chris Olave, a wide receiver for the Saints, experienced his second concussion of the season during Sunday’s 23-22 defeat against the Panthers.

While attempting to catch a pass in the first quarter, Olave was struck and remained down on the field, ultimately being removed on a backboard.

Despite managing to move his feet and interact with teammates, Olave was released from the hospital with a confirmed concussion, and he will rejoin the team.

This marks the third occasion in three games that Olave has endured a significant head or neck injury.

Throughout his career, Olave has been placed in the league's concussion protocol four times and has missed two games due to these issues.

After sustaining a hard hit last week against the Chargers and clearing neurological evaluations, Olave chose to switch to a new helmet rather than opting for a Guardian Cap.

With this helmet change, Olave noted experiencing reduced impact from hits.
