Las Vegas Raiders News & Updates

The acquisition of a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders by Tom Brady has been approved by NFL team owners. Brady, who has won the Super Bowl seven times, once played for the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, with around 5% ownership in the Raiders, this move required a majority vote from the owners.

Richard Seymour, who formerly played as a defensive lineman for the Raiders and Patriots, has also acquired a minority share in the team. He conveyed his appreciation and respect for the opportunity to be part of NFL ownership, understanding the responsibilities that come with it.

Brady's agreement, initially reached in May 2023, encountered some opposition over concerns about a possible price reduction from Raiders owner Mark Davis. Furthermore, his new broadcasting position with Fox created potential conflicts of interest.

The NFL has imposed certain limitations on Brady's broadcasting role, restricting his access to information and personnel within the team. He is, however, allowed to cover Raiders games and needs to comply with league rules on public commentary.

Brady also has an ownership stake in the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA, a team primarily owned by Mark Davis. Alongside Seymour, Brady follows in the footsteps of George Halas Sr. and Jerry Richardson, making them the third and fourth former NFL players to own a team.
