Cincinnati Bengals News & Updates

The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) is currently looking into an incident involving Chase Brown, the Bengals running back, that occurred after Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. As Brown and his teammates were leaving the field, he claims that a fan poured a drink on him.

A video capturing the event was posted on social media, leading the NFLPA and the NFL to start an investigation. Michael Thomas, an association player director, mentioned that they are working to identify the person responsible and decide on suitable consequences.

According to Brown, he had thrown his gloves to a fan near the visitors tunnel to celebrate Cincinnati's first win of the season, during which he scored his first and second NFL rushing touchdowns. However, this celebration was marred by the incident.

Ted Karras, the Bengals' NFLPA representative, pointed out a comparable situation in 2017 involving David Andrews, where a drink was also thrown during a New England Patriots game. Such behavior can lead to significant penalties, including lifetime bans.

Karras condemned the incident and highlighted the importance of player safety and respect. He stated that actions that show disrespect towards athletes are unacceptable and should not be tolerated.

Chase Brown voiced his disappointment and called on fans to avoid such behavior in the future. He emphasized that players do not wish to experience such treatment and insisted that measures should be taken to prevent it from happening again.
