Houston Texans News & Updates

The Houston Texans' wide receiver, Nico Collins, is dealing with a hamstring injury that has been classified as a week-to-week issue. He sustained this injury during the team's win against the Buffalo Bills after making a 67-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter, causing him to sit out the rest of the game.

Texans' coach DeMeco Ryans has a hopeful outlook for Collins' return in their Week 6 game against the New England Patriots. However, he mentioned that Collins' condition will be assessed on a weekly basis. As it stands, Collins is at the top of the league in receiving yards, having recorded 567.

Without Collins, the Texans' offense faced challenges, placing a heavy burden on quarterback C.J. Stroud. During the fourth quarter, Stroud threw an interception and lost the ball on a fumble. The game was ultimately decided by a 59-yard field goal from Ka'imi Fairbairn, which secured the win on the final play.

In terms of receiving, Stefon Diggs was the leading player for the Texans, with six catches totaling 82 yards. Stroud openly admitted that Collins' absence was felt deeply in their offensive gameplay.

Ryans stressed the importance of a team effort to fill the void left by Collins, acknowledging, "there's one Nico" and urging other players to "make the plays that you're supposed to make" to compensate for his absence.
