Denver Broncos News & Updates

When Pat Surtain II extended his contract, momentarily becoming the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, coach Sean Payton anticipated an increase in turnovers. Surtain met these expectations during Denver's convincing win over Las Vegas by securing two interceptions.

Surtain's initial interception turned into a 100-yard return for a touchdown, which wiped out a 10-point deficit. His second interception facilitated another touchdown, helping Denver end an eight-game losing streak against Las Vegas.

The Raiders' offense struggled, managing only 5 rushing yards after the break. Although Brock Bowers scored a touchdown, it was overshadowed by Minshew's interception, which Surtain returned for a score.

For Denver, rookie Bo Nix had a standout performance with two passing touchdowns and a rushing score, and Riley Moss also intercepted Minshew.

The Raiders were missing Davante Adams, among other injured players. Adams has expressed interest in joining another team.

The Broncos gained a lead by halftime thanks to a field goal by Wil Lutz. Raiders defensive end Janarius Robinson incurred a personal foul, allowing Lutz a second chance to score.

Both teams dealt with injuries. Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins injured his foot, while Broncos center Matt Wattenberg and right tackle Alex Palczewski exited with unspecified injuries.

Looking ahead, the Raiders will host the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Broncos will face off against the Los Angeles Chargers.
