Kansas City Chiefs News & Updates

Patrick Mahomes was initially worried about the severity of his left ankle injury, which occurred in the fourth quarter during the Monday night game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had previously rolled the same ankle the week before but managed to remain in the game and throw another touchdown.

As the Buccaneers pushed the game into overtime, Mahomes led a 10-play drive that resulted in a 30-24 victory for the Chiefs.

On the sideline, Mahomes underwent an examination and performed mobility tests before being cleared to continue playing.

Mahomes expressed confidence that he will be ready to participate in Sunday's home game against the Denver Broncos. He sustained the injury on a non-contact play while throwing a touchdown pass.

He distinguished this injury from a previous playoff injury by emphasizing that he retained mobility and did not feel as much pain.
