Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen shared that he did not receive a contract offer from the Baltimore Ravens following his free agency.
In March, Queen signed a three-year deal worth $41 million with the Steelers. He had originally been picked by the Ravens in the first round of the 2020 draft. Last year, Baltimore chose not to extend his fifth-year option, opting instead to sign Roquan Smith to a $100 million deal.
Queen conveyed his disappointment over not being offered a contract by the Ravens after spending four years with them. However, he has moved on and is now concentrating on achieving success with his new teammates in Pittsburgh.
Despite not having spoken to Ravens coach John Harbaugh or general manager Eric DeCosta since his departure, Queen still maintains contact with some of his former teammates, although not this week.
In recent weeks, Queen has been performing well for the Steelers, making significant contributions in their victories against the New York Giants and Washington Commanders.
Initially, Queen expressed excitement about playing the role of a "villain" in the Steelers-Ravens rivalry, but he acknowledged that it took him several months to come to terms with his departure from Baltimore.
This Sunday, Queen is set to face former teammate Lamar Jackson for the first time in a game. He complimented Jackson on his competitiveness and athletic skill, sharing his eagerness for the upcoming challenge.
