New England Patriots News & Updates

Jerod Mayo, the coach of the New England Patriots, has revealed a switch at the running back position due to Rhamondre Stevenson's fumbles during the initial four games of the season.

In an announcement on the "Patriots All-Access" show, Mayo communicated his decision to Stevenson, stressing that although Stevenson will still have opportunities to play, enhancing his grip on the ball is crucial.

Antonio Gibson, with five years of professional experience, is anticipated to take on the starting role in Stevenson's place when the Patriots face the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.

Mayo suggested this adjustment previously by stating that the team could no longer put up with frequent fumbles. Stevenson has opened the first four games with a total of 267 rushing yards and two touchdowns, but has also fumbled in each of these games.

Gibson, who stands at six feet tall and weighs 228 pounds, has served as the main backup and has gathered 155 rushing yards and 82 receiving yards over 36 touches.

Stevenson has communicated his dissatisfaction with his recent performance and has admitted the necessity for improving his ball handling skills.
