New England Patriots News & Updates

New England Patriots' center David Andrews is set to have shoulder surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the season, as announced by coach Jerod Mayo. Mayo lauded Andrews' leadership and communication abilities, noting that his absence will be a considerable loss for the team.

Additionally, Mayo suggested that running back Antonio Gibson might start instead of Rhamondre Stevenson when the Patriots face the Miami Dolphins, primarily due to Stevenson's issues with fumbling.

Emphasizing the critical importance of ball security, Mayo stated that the team can no longer afford to overlook Stevenson's fumbles.

Gibson has been serving as the Patriots' primary backup running back, while Stevenson has started the initial four games of the season, fumbling in each of them.

Mayo also shared that wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, linebacker Sione Takitaki, and safety/linebacker Marte Mapu started practicing for the first time on Wednesday.
