Patriots' Jabrill Peppers Arrested on Strangulation and Drug Possession Charges Before Dolphins Defeat

Jabrill Peppers, a safety for the New England Patriots, was taken into custody on Saturday after a confrontation between two people.

As a captain of the Patriots, Peppers did not participate in the team's defeat against the Miami Dolphins because of a shoulder injury that led to his official withdrawal on Saturday.

Law enforcement officials report that Peppers is facing multiple charges such as assault and battery, assault involving a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of drugs.

The person alleged to be the victim received medical attention at the location of the incident. Peppers is set to appear in court for arraignment on Monday.

Jerod Mayo, the head coach of the Patriots, acknowledged being aware of the situation and mentioned that they have notified the NFL. The team is in the process of collecting more information.

The Patriots have issued a statement in which they recognized the occurrence and stated that there would be no further remarks until the police investigation is concluded.
