The Chicago Cubs achieved a convincing 5-2 win against the Milwaukee Brewers. This match signaled the Cubs' first victory of the season, providing an essential boost to their campaign.

Even though they were initially behind with a 1-0 score in the early innings, the Cubs made a comeback when Willson Contreras hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Patrick Wisdom further contributed with another home run in the fifth inning, increasing their lead to 5-1.

While the Brewers managed to score an additional run in the bottom of the fifth inning, it was insufficient to surpass the Cubs' strong showing. Starting pitcher Justin Steele delivered five effective innings, allowing only two runs across five hits.
