The Las Vegas Raiders dismissed their offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, along with offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello, after nine games into the season.
The Raiders have suffered five consecutive defeats, holding the least favorable record in the NFL at 2-7, and their offensive performance has been lacking, managing to score merely four touchdowns over their last 50 drives.
Getsy, who joined the team in February, remarked earlier in the week that the idea of "scripted" plays at the beginning of games was inaccurate.
After being let go by the Bears in January, Getsy was hired by the Raiders following the withdrawal of former Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury from the hiring process.
Prior to the Raiders' defeat against the Chargers two weeks earlier, Getsy had been relocated to the press box to oversee play calling.
The team also made a change at quarterback, substituting Gardner Minshew with Desmond Ridder late in the third quarter during the game against the Bengals.
