During the closing moments of the Raiders practice, their All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams suffered a hamstring injury. Sources indicate he may be sidelined on a week-to-week basis.
The team announced on Friday that Adams will not be playing in Sunday's game against the Browns, suggesting he might be out for several weeks. It is common for wide receivers to have lengthy recovery periods from hamstring injuries.
Hamstring issues are also affecting the Eagles' receiver A.J. Brown, who has already missed three games with a similar problem.
The Raiders have had a challenging week, with coach Antonio Pierce hinting at possible strategic decisions. However, trading Adams is not currently considered an option.
Maxx Crosby is dealing with a high ankle sprain and tried playing through the injury in last Sunday's loss, fueling speculation about the team making "business decisions".
Despite the ongoing issues, the Raiders have stuck with veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew, while Aidan O'Connell serves as a backup and may see playing time if necessary.
With Adams absent, Minshew is expected to depend on Jakobi Meyers and Brock Bowers in the passing game.
The Raiders are somewhat accustomed to playing without Adams, as he missed the preseason to support his pregnant wife.
Adams has had an impressive start this season with 18 catches, totaling 209 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, the team's first-round draft pick, Bowers, has also been performing well, leading all NFL tight ends with 18 catches for 197 yards and a touchdown.
