Las Vegas Raiders News & Updates

The Las Vegas Raiders managed to hold off a late surge and defeated the Cleveland Browns with a score of 20-16 on Sunday. The win was cemented when Charles Snowden sacked Deshaun Watson with just 41 seconds left on the clock.

Even though they were without key players Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby due to injuries, the Raiders leaned on a stout defense and a balanced running game, limiting the Browns to merely 241 total yards.

Leading the Raiders' ground game, Alexander Mattison rushed for 60 yards, while Gardner Minshew completed 14 of 24 passes, accumulating 130 yards. Watson, who had been sacked 16 times before this game, faced three more sacks courtesy of the Raiders.

The loss marked a setback for the Browns, dropping their record to 1-3. Their hopes of playoff contention now seem dimmer despite earlier ambitions to seize the opportunity.

Conversely, the Raiders rebounded from a previous week's defeat against the Panthers. They overcame an early 10-0 deficit by scoring the following 20 points.

A significant error occurred when Zamir White fumbled early in the fourth quarter, leading to a touchdown return by Rodney McLeod. However, Dustin Hopkins' missed extra point kept the Raiders ahead.

The Browns seemed to have taken the lead with a touchdown pass to Amari Cooper, but the play was nullified due to a holding penalty on Nick Harris.

The Browns had one final opportunity to tie the game, but Watson was sacked before he could attempt a pass.

Injuries
