The Baltimore Ravens enjoyed an exhilarating 41-38 overtime triumph against the Cincinnati Bengals, celebrating enthusiastically in the locker room. However, quarterback Lamar Jackson remained subdued.
Even with a stellar performance of four touchdowns and 348 passing yards, Jackson felt discontent about a fumbled snap during overtime that nearly jeopardized the team's victory.
Throughout regulation, Jackson was instrumental as he orchestrated scoring drives on all four possessions in the second half. His standout game included surpassing 300 passing yards, throwing four touchdowns, and rushing for 50 yards.
Unfortunately, his fumbled snap in overtime was claimed by the Bengals, who then failed to make a potentially game-winning field goal. The victory for the Ravens came through a field goal, facilitated by Derrick Henry's 51-yard run.
Despite winning, Jackson couldn't shake off his dissatisfaction. He admitted that his joy would have been greater if he hadn’t fumbled in overtime.
Among the highlights, Jackson escaped a defensive rush by stiff-arming a defender and made an impressive leap to throw a touchdown pass, which had just a 31.4% chance of completion.
Even after trailing three times by 10 points in the second half, Jackson led the Ravens to a significant recovery. This victory was their first comeback from a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit since October 2021.
Running back Derrick Henry lauded Jackson's efforts, labeling his performance as "MVP level" and declaring him the "best player in the league."
