Baltimore Ravens News & Updates

Baltimore's top-performing offense is eagerly awaiting a dynamic new element for the Thursday night matchup against Cincinnati.

Keaton Mitchell, the running back, is set to make a comeback from his injury, given that there are no unforeseen complications. Sources have confirmed that he will be reactivated on Thursday after fully engaging in practice sessions this week. Mitchell has been out of action since December 2023 due to an ACL injury.

To make room for Mitchell's return to the roster, Baltimore decided to release defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, who has achieved 1.5 sacks so far this season.

As an undrafted rookie last year, Mitchell impressed with an average of 8.4 rushing yards and scored two touchdowns, which significantly boosted Baltimore's offensive performance. Coach John Harbaugh stated that Mitchell would be back when he is prepared to compete and able to ensure his own safety.

Mitchell's knee injury occurred in Week 15 of last season after a trip by a Jaguars player. His return to practice in October has shown significant improvements, as noted by Harbaugh.

Mitchell's agility complements the strength of leading rusher Derrick Henry, enhancing the leading total and rushing offense in the NFL. Additionally, Mitchell's capability as a kickoff returner could be advantageous, considering the Ravens are currently ranked 27th in that area.

With a record of 6-3, Baltimore aims for a victory over Cincinnati, with a 4-5 record, when they meet on Thursday night.
