On Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, the New York Rangers emerged victorious over the New Jersey Devils with a 5-2 win. In the first period, the Rangers managed to score three goals, establishing a strong lead early in the game.
The scoring began with Artemi Panarin finding the net just 4 minutes and 27 seconds from the start. Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad followed with goals later in the same period. Throughout this period, the Rangers were dominant, outshooting the Devils 18-7 and dictating the tempo.
In the second period, Jesper Bratt scored a goal to put the Devils on the scoreboard. However, the Rangers quickly responded with a goal by Andrew Copp. Although Tomas Tatar managed another goal for the Devils in the third period, it wasn't enough to close the gap.
Igor Shesterkin was instrumental for the Rangers, making 34 saves, whereas Akira Schmid made 27 saves for the Devils. This win improved the Rangers' record to 24-12-6, while the Devils' record dropped to 18-16-5.
