Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah from the Browns experienced a neck injury in the third quarter of their win over the Ravens. He needed to be immobilized and was taken to a hospital for further assessment, yet he still has mobility in all his limbs.
The incident took place when Owusu-Koramoah collided with running back Derrick Henry while attempting to make a tackle. Henry's arm impacted Owusu-Koramoah's neck, causing him to fall backward and remain on the ground after the incident.
After receiving medical attention for several minutes, Owusu-Koramoah was secured on a backboard and left the field via a cart, acknowledging the crowd with a raised fist. In his fourth year out of Notre Dame, he was chosen for the Pro Bowl last season and had been leading the Browns in tackles as they began Week 8.
Cornerback Denzel Ward was also sidelined due to a concussion, as reported by Coach Kevin Stefanski. Since entering the NFL in 2018, this marks Ward's sixth recorded concussion.
