Pittsburgh Steelers News & Updates

Following the Steelers' win over the Giants, Russell Wilson expressed a sense of improvement and fluidity in his second game. Although he initially missed some games, he emphasized the significance of effectively addressing challenges.

In his early appearances with the Steelers, Wilson set a new franchise record for passing yards, surpassing the record previously held by Earl Morrall since 1957. Coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged Wilson's enhanced performance compared to the prior week.

The Steelers' offense demonstrated efficiency in moving the ball, though two potential touchdown passes to George Pickens were negated due to incomplete catches. Nonetheless, Wilson later connected with Calvin Austin III for a 29-yard touchdown.

Austin praised Wilson's dedication to making substantial plays. The team's achievement, bolstered by Wilson's efforts and a strong rushing attack led by Najee Harris, allowed them to achieve consecutive 400-yard offensive outings, a milestone last reached in 2018.

Wilson, however, warned against complacency as they headed into their bye week. Despite holding a 6-2 record, he stressed the importance of concentrating on future games and using the break to rest and prepare for new challenges.
