New Orleans Saints News & Updates

Experienced wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has become a new addition to the New Orleans Saints team. He finalized his move on Monday, after undergoing a workout and medical check, along with a discussion with coach Dennis Allen.

The Saints were in search of an additional receiver following Rashid Shaheed's season-ending knee surgery. Shaheed, known for his All-Pro kick returning skills, was leading the team in both receiving yards and touchdowns.

Another essential player for the Saints, Chris Olave, remains in the concussion protocol following a head injury sustained during Week 6. Valdes-Scantling offers a wealth of experience, having previously been part of the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills.

Valdes-Scantling’s height and speed make him a valuable addition to the Saints' offensive lineup, especially with the loss of Shaheed. Over the course of 60 games, he has accumulated 188 catches, 3,181 yards, and 16 touchdowns, including a memorable touchdown during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory.
