San Francisco 49ers' Running Back Christian McCaffrey Nears Practice Return as Recovery Hits Milestone

During the 49ers' break, Christian McCaffrey stays close to the Bay Area, participating in practice simulations to be ready for the opening of his practice window on November 4th.

Coach Kyle Shanahan expects McCaffrey's return, mentioning that everything is on track and there is hope for him to join practice next week. Once the practice window is open, the 49ers will have a 21-day period to either activate him or place him back on injured reserve.

The team is also monitoring the conditions of several other players, including Deebo Samuel with hip and oblique issues, Jordan Mason with a shoulder problem, Renardo Green with an ankle injury, Chris Conley dealing with a hamstring issue, and Jauan Jennings, who has a hip injury and is anticipated to play against Tampa Bay.

As for linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who is recovering from a torn Achilles, there is currently no set schedule for his practice return, but his condition will be evaluated again after the bye week.
