Mike Macdonald's first game as head coach got off to a rocky start with his quarterback being sacked and intercepted. Despite this initial setback, the Seattle Seahawks rallied in the second half to achieve a 26-20 win over the Denver Broncos.
Kenneth Walker III played a central role in the Seahawks' comeback, rushing for 84 yards and scoring a touchdown in the second half. His performance ignited a turnaround following a mistake-filled first half.
Geno Smith, the quarterback for Seattle, also helped shift the momentum. Although he struggled initially, he regained his composure, managing a 34-yard touchdown run and a 30-yard touchdown pass to Zach Charbonnet.
For much of the game, Denver's defense remained strong, especially in the first half. However, Bo Nix, their rookie quarterback, made some errant throws that resulted in two interceptions. Despite a late effort to close the gap, the Broncos ended up falling short.
The game was notable for Denver recording two safeties, making them just the second team since 1960 to achieve this in a season opener.
During the game, Seattle suffered injuries to right tackle George Fant and left tackle Garrett Boles, and Kenneth Walker left due to an abdominal issue. Both teams have challenging games ahead, with Denver playing host to Pittsburgh and Seattle traveling to New England next week.
