The Braves faced their second consecutive defeat, losing to the Phillies 8-5 on Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
The Phillies took an early advantage, scoring four runs in the first inning. The Braves attempted to close the gap by scoring three runs in the second inning, but the Phillies widened their lead by bringing in two more runs in the fourth inning.
In the sixth inning, the Braves narrowed the margin to one run; however, the Phillies solidified their victory by adding two runs in the seventh inning.
Braves' pitcher Mike Soroka surrendered six runs on nine hits over four innings, while Phillies' pitcher Zach Eflin conceded three runs on five hits over five innings.
The Braves will aim to prevent a series sweep in the final game on Wednesday afternoon.
