San Francisco 49ers News & Updates

Advancing to the Seniors category for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025 are former MVP Ken Anderson, versatile running back Roger Craig, and L.C. Greenwood, who was a key figure in the Steel Curtain defense.

The list of initial nominees, totaling 183, has been narrowed down to 60 candidates. This group will be further reduced to three finalists by the Senior Blue Ribbon Committee.

Returning for consideration are Craig, Anderson, and 10 other semifinalists from the previous year, which include Art Powell among others.

To qualify for the Seniors category, players must have ended their careers by the conclusion of the 1999 season.

Craig made a significant impact on the San Francisco dynasty of the 1980s by achieving a season with 1,000 yards in both rushing and receiving in 1985, and by leading the NFL in total scrimmage yards in 1988.

Anderson earned the MVP accolade in 1981 while guiding the Cincinnati Bengals to their inaugural Super Bowl appearance.

Despite not yet being inducted into the Hall, Greenwood is recognized as a key member of the formidable Steelers' defense that captured four Super Bowl victories. He was selected for the all-decade team of the 1970s and received six Pro Bowl honors.
