Pittsburgh Steelers News & Updates

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be missing edge rusher Alex Highsmith for several weeks due to a groin injury he suffered during their Week 3 win over the Chargers.

Coach Mike Tomlin has confirmed that Highsmith will not play in Sunday's game against the Colts. Although Highsmith does not need surgery, the exact duration of his absence remains unclear.

With Highsmith sidelined, the Steelers will depend on fourth-round draft pick Nick Herbig, who registered two sacks in 19 snaps against the Chargers.

Since being drafted in 2020, Highsmith has been a consistent starter alongside T.J. Watt. He has accumulated 30.5 career sacks, including a personal best of 14.5 sacks in 2022.
