Steelers Guard James Daniels Out for Season with Achilles Injury, Marking Third Offensive Line Setback

Pittsburgh Steelers News & Updates

James Daniels, the starting right guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has suffered an Achilles tear and will be out for the remainder of the season.

The injury occurred during the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Daniels had to be assisted off the field and was later seen with crutches.

This marks the third season-ending injury for a Steelers offensive lineman. Earlier, Nate Herbig tore his rotator cuff during training camp, and Troy Fautanu injured his knee in practice.

Daniels has been a consistent starter for the Steelers, having started 36 games since signing a three-year deal in 2022. He has been a reliable presence on the offensive line.

With Daniels out, the Steelers are expected to turn to Mason McCormick, who filled in for Daniels on Sunday. Spencer Anderson also saw action after Daniels was injured.
