The Minnesota Vikings secured their spot in the playoffs by edging out the New York Giants 27-24 in an exciting matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Kirk Cousins, the Vikings' quarterback, passed for 248 yards and one touchdown. Running back Dalvin Cook contributed significantly with 116 rushing yards and a touchdown, while the Vikings' defense played a pivotal role by intercepting Daniel Jones, the Giants' quarterback, twice and sacking him three times.
Though the Giants initially took the lead, the Vikings answered back with two field goals kicked by Greg Joseph. A touchdown run by Cook put the Vikings ahead 13-7 by halftime.
The Giants managed to even the score with a touchdown during the third quarter. However, the Vikings took back the lead when Cousins connected with Justin Jefferson for a touchdown pass. Later, the Vikings' defense made a crucial play in the fourth quarter, resulting in a fumble recovery by linebacker Anthony Barr.
With a field goal, the Vikings extended their advantage to 27-17. Although the Giants managed to score a touchdown with just over two minutes left, the Vikings maintained their lead to secure the win.
This victory improved the Vikings to a 12-4 record, while the Giants dropped to 8-8, thus ending their chances of reaching the playoffs.
