New York Jets News & Updates

During a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium, New York Jets guard Xavier Newman experienced a neck injury.

After the incident, Newman was taken to a hospital in the Pittsburgh area for a thorough examination. Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich later reported that the tests returned negative results.

The injury occurred in the third quarter when Newman was in the midst of returning an interception. He was knocked off his feet by Patrick Queen, a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, which resulted in him landing on his back and remaining motionless.

Concerned players gathered around Newman while medical personnel attended to him on the field. He was later taken away by ambulance, with reports indicating he was able to move his limbs.

Newman, who usually serves as a backup, stepped in to replace Alijah Vera-Tucker after he left the game in the second quarter due to an ankle injury.

Despite the incident involving Newman, the Pittsburgh Steelers emerged victorious over the New York Jets with a final score of 37-15.
