Pittsburgh Steelers News & Updates

Justin Fields is set to be the Pittsburgh Steelers' emergency third quarterback but will not be active for the Monday night matchup with the New York Giants because of a hamstring injury.

Initially listed as questionable, Fields took part fully in all practices leading up to the game. He was observed throwing warmup passes on the field before the kickoff.

With Fields sidelined, Kyle Allen will act as the main backup to Russell Wilson. Wilson is set to start his second game of the season after being out for the first six weeks due to a calf injury. During Wilson's absence, Fields achieved a 4-2 record as the starter, but Wilson reenergized the Steelers' passing game in his first appearance.

Against the New York Jets, Wilson threw for 245 yards and completed two touchdown passes while also scoring with a run, achieving a franchise record for passing yards in a debut game.
