The Dallas Cowboys endured a significant 28-point defeat, where a touchdown in the second quarter had minimal impact. Once again, the sun played a role in a game at AT&T Stadium.
In a situation where they were trailing and had a chance on the goal line, Cooper Rush tried to pass to CeeDee Lamb in the end zone. Unfortunately, the pass was not caught due to the sun blocking Lambās view, and the Cowboys had to settle for a field goal instead.
After the defeat, team owner Jerry Jones recognized the sun as a recurrent issue, mentioning their awareness of its position within the stadium.
Jones, however, dismissed the idea of using curtains, arguing that it would entail tearing down the stadium.
The Cowboys do not hold practice sessions in the stadium, and the sunlight issue only arises during late afternoon matches in the fall. This led some to question whether coach Mike McCarthy should adjust his play-calling strategy based on the sunās positioning.
Rush stated he aimed to pass to Lamb, but because of the sunlight, he couldnāt see where the pass ended up.
While Lamb voiced his support for the use of curtains, Jones has consistently opposed this idea since the stadium began operations in 2009.
