The Tampa Bay Buccaneers contributed ten thousand dollars to aid the family affected by a tragic car accident that occurred while they were heading to the team's Monday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
An eighteen-year-old named Connor Barba from Norman, Oklahoma, lost his life in the accident, and his mother, Megan Barnett, sustained severe injuries. She had surprised her son with tickets to watch his favorite player, Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Baker Mayfield offered his condolences and intends to reach out to the family, stating that his thoughts and prayers are with Megan and her family. He mentioned being honored that Connor was a fan and expressed his hope for Meganās full recovery despite acknowledging that words cannot truly console the family.
Connor's uncle, Collin Barnett, praised Connorās quick decision-making for saving his mother's life during the incident. He explained that Connor swerved, applied the brakes forcefully, and protected Megan, claiming Connor heroically bore the brunt of the impact.
Megan Barnett is currently receiving treatment in the ICU at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as reported by a GoFundMe page initiated by her employer.
