Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made NFL history as the eleventh player ever to achieve 100 receiving touchdowns. However, the celebration was marred by a hamstring injury that forced him to leave the game.
Evans, who had been dealing with a hamstring strain, participated in the Buccaneers' 41-31 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens and successfully caught a touchdown in the opening drive. Unfortunately, during the second quarter, he was seen clutching his hamstring after falling to the ground in pain.
He managed to leave the field with assistance from the team's medical staff, though he was noticeably limping. Earlier in the week, he had skipped practice due to this same injury, which coach Todd Bowles noted as being a persistent issue rather than a sudden one.
The game took another unfortunate turn for the Buccaneers when Chris Godwin was taken off the field on a cart in the second half following an injury to his left lower leg. This incident left many players, including quarterback Baker Mayfield, visibly upset. Preliminary assessments indicate that Godwin may have dislocated his ankle.
Both Evans and Godwin were leading the league in touchdowns, each with five, as they approached the matchup.
