The Boston Celtics claimed victory over the Golden State Warriors with a score of 108-97 in the opening game of the NBA Finals. Making his first appearance in the NBA Finals, Jayson Tatum led Boston by scoring 26 points, while Jaylen Brown added 21 points to the team's efforts.

Golden State’s star player, Stephen Curry, was limited to 27 points, which was significantly below his average for the season. Klay Thompson added 21 points for the Warriors, but their contributions were not enough to counter Boston’s well-rounded scoring approach.

In the second quarter, the Celtics gained the upper hand by outscoring the Warriors 35 to 24. Boston's defense was exceptionally strong, restricting Golden State to a 36% shooting rate from the field. Tatum was particularly dominant, contributing 17 points during the first half.

The Warriors narrowed the gap in the third quarter, reducing the lead to 84 to 76. Yet, the Celtics answered with a 10-2 spurt to maintain their advantage. In the fourth quarter, Boston sustained their hold on the game, ultimately securing the win and leading the series 1 to 0.
