Houston Texans News & Updates

Joe Mixon, the running back for the Texans, expressed dissatisfaction with how the NFL prioritizes player safety after he was injured by a prohibited hip-drop tackle.

Since his injury in Week 2, Mixon has been frustrated that the player who injured him faced a lighter fine compared to others penalized for actions taken to protect themselves.

The athlete, who was named AFC Player of the Week in Week 1, recently returned to practice for the first time in two weeks and remains uncertain about playing in Week 5.

On social media, Mixon has been vocal about his criticism of both the NFL and the NFL Players Association, urging them to take action regarding player safety.

He questioned why there was no penalty called for the hip tackle that led to his injury in Week 2, noting the response he got from an official.

Additionally, Mixon has voiced his concerns about the NFLPA's stance on media access, stressing that player safety should take precedence over media policies.
