The United States men's basketball team began their Olympic journey with a strong win, overcoming France 83-76 in a Group A game.

Guided by Kevin Durant's impressive 22 points, the Americans dominated the game's pace throughout. France remained competitive during the initial half, but the US steadily increased their lead in the latter half.

Alongside Durant's efforts, Bradley Beal and Jayson Tatum each added 18 points for the United States. On the other side, Nicolas Batum was the top scorer for France with 22 points, with Evan Fournier contributing 18.

The United States is set to play Iran in their next Group A matchup on July 28th, while France will compete against the Czech Republic on July 25th.
