The discussions around trading Davante Adams are predicted to become more active now that his hamstring injury is on the mend. Teams remain cautious about making definite offers without clarity on what the Raiders will accept.
The Raiders are seeking a second-round draft pick along with extra compensation for Adams. The New York Jets and New Orleans Saints are leading contenders for acquiring him, although other teams are also showing interest.
Adams has shown a preference for joining either the Jets or the Saints. While the Jets have the necessary salary cap space, they still face an unresolved issue with Haason Reddick. On the other hand, the Saints would have to adjust their salary cap to accommodate Adams.
Adams's current contract is set to expire at the end of the 2026 season, with his yearly salary anticipated to rise considerably in 2025 and 2026. A trading team would probably require a restructured agreement with Adams.
The Raiders brought in Adams through a trade with the Packers in 2022. He played just one season in Las Vegas with Carr before Carr was let go. Before his stint with the Raiders, Adams spent the first eight years of his career with Rodgers in Green Bay.
