Jacksonville Jaguars News & Updates

Travon Walker, who plays as a defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, was caught off guard when he received a penalty for unnecessary roughness. He was trying to strip the ball from Aaron Jones, a running back for the Minnesota Vikings.

Walker was confused by the penalty and found the official's reasoning equally surprising. They cited excessive aggression after the play had stopped as the basis for the call.

The penalty was issued after the Jaguars managed to stop Jones just one yard shy of a first down with slightly more than a minute on the clock. This penalty gave the Vikings a new set of downs, allowing Sam Darnold to run out the remaining time.

Even if Walker hadn't received the penalty, the Jaguars were in a tough position without any timeouts left to arrange a game-winning drive. The team's offense struggled throughout the game, ending with just 143 yards, which was their fifth-lowest total, and only gaining 23 yards in the last quarter.

Despite taking accountability for the penalty, Walker highlighted that his teammates knew he acted with the right intentions.
