Yannick Ngakoue, a 29-year-old outside linebacker with an impressive 69 career sacks, has joined the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad. This marks his second time with the team, having played for them previously in 2020.
Ngakoue brings valuable experience to a predominantly young Ravens pass-rushing group, where Kyle Van Noy is the only player over 25 among the top four rushers.
Despite the Ravens' strong performance this season, amassing 10 sacks in three games, his return raises questions, given the teamās current effectiveness in quarterback pressure.
Ngakoue initially joined the Ravens in 2020 from the Minnesota Vikings but had a relatively unproductive season, recording only 11 tackles and three sacks. He later signed with the Las Vegas Raiders before spending part of the 2023 season with the Chicago Bears.
His partnership with Montez Sweat in Chicago had a notable impact, resulting in four sacks and 22 tackles in 13 games before an ankle injury sidelined him.
Prior to his time with the Bears, Ngakoue also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts, consistently posting over eight sacks in his first seven NFL seasons.
